Bridal Style - What the Bride Wants

By Anna Lynn Sibal

The one reason why a bride can get so stressed out during the process of preparing for her wedding is the desire to have every single detail of the event carried out perfectly. Not only does the wedding have to be in the acceptable style, but it should be a happening that will impress everyone and have no one complaining about.

Every bride should know that it is impossible to please every single guest attending her wedding, no matter how much her mother or her future mother-in-law nags her about it. In order to avoid getting burned out by all the stress that planning and preparing for a wedding entails, the bride should simply follow her own style and instinct for doing things.

It is All About What She Wants

Who is the star of the wedding? Upon whom would all eyes be turned on that day? We all know that this person is none other than the bride. Thus, the wedding itself - every single detail of it – should be a reflection of who she is.

It is but natural for every friend and family member involved to drop a word here or there about some aspects of the wedding, but the bride should do whatever she wants to do - within the limits of good taste, of course. She should listen to any piece of advice given her, but she should not feel forced to heed it if it goes against what she envisions her wedding to be.

Vision Creates Style

It all starts with a vision. How does the bride envision her wedding to be? Does she want a wedding at the beach, a grand church wedding, a garden wedding, or a simple wedding at home? What theme does she want her wedding to have?

The theme should be something that speaks about the personality of the bride and the groom. It could be something that they both have in common. For example, if they are both golf addicts, they can hold the wedding at the greens of their golf club and hold the reception there as well. The colors, the decors and the favors of the wedding would have something in relation to golf.

Selecting a theme requires inspiration on the bride's part. To get her creative juices flowing, she should visit wedding websites and read bridal magazines to get ideas.

Style versus Budget

Who does not want a grand and stylish wedding? Most brides certainly want one. However, not every bridal budget can afford such a wedding.

But to the creative bride, money would not be a problem. She can get married in style even on a shoe-string budget. It is just a matter of finding alternatives. Familiar with the TV show The Look for Less? A creative bride would apply the principles taught in that show - substituting an inexpensive item that looks the same as the real but more expensive thing - to her own wedding.

Beyond creativity, the bride needs to be organized as well. She should plan way ahead of the date of her wedding, order everything that she needs ahead of time, and be diligent in scouring for great deals that will leave her enough room to play around with her wedding funds.

But Most of All ...

A bride should have fun while planning out her wedding. Her wedding is one of the most exciting times of her life, and she should relish each moment of it instead of being lost in stressing out on the details.
