Bridal Tiara
A Tiara to Make a Bride a Princess
By Anna Lynn Sibal
But then again, the same brides who want to wear tiaras are just as skeptical as they are eager about wearing one. They often ask themselves whether they should wear a tiara or how they can wear a tiara without looking overdressed for their own wedding.
Any bride can wear a tiara if they want. It is just a matter of getting the right tiara that suits them the most.
The Bridal Tiara and the Wedding Gown
Before a bride sets out to buy the tiara of her dreams, she should first buy the wedding dress of her dreams. She should never forget that her dress would be the centerpiece of her bridal outfit and everything else that she would wear for her special day are just accessories. These accessories should complement her wedding dress.
As thus, the tiara that the bride would wear should go with her dress as closely as possible. If the bride's gown has floral embellishments, then she should pick a tiara that has a filigree or floral pattern. The stones on the tiara should also match the stones on the gown - rhinestones with rhinestones, pearls with pearls, and so on.
The color of the gown is also an important consideration. Generally speaking, a bride should wear silver jewelry and a silver tiara with a bright white gown. Gold goes with an ivory-colored or off-white gown.
The Shape of the Bride's Face
Another consideration that a bride should have when choosing a bridal tiara is the shape of her face. Again, just like with the gown, the tiara should complement and balance out the face of the bride.
If the bride's face is round or full, the tiara that would suit her is something tall or something with a V-shaped peak. It would make her face seem longer. However, if her face is long or oval, she should make it look rounder by wearing a headband-style tiara instead of a high tiara.
The Bride's Hairstyle
When all things are considered, the bridal tiara is actually an accessory for the hair. As thus, it should match the hairstyle the bride will wear on her wedding day. Once again, balance is the issue. If the bride has long hair and will wear a big and elaborate hairstyle, she should wear a big tiara to strike a balance with her hair. But if the bride's hair is short or if she will wear a small and simple hairstyle, she should wear a small and simple tiara.
How would a bride know which tiara would go with the hairstyle that she wants? She should go to her hairstylist and ask for the stylist's advice. He or she will have plenty to say about that.
The Bride with a Low Budget
Alas, not all brides have the money to bust on accessories alone. There are also brides who do want a tiara but believe that it is not practical to get a piece of jewelry that they will only wear once.
The solution that brides who want tiaras but cannot afford one or think it is impractical to get one is to buy a convertible tiara. Many tiaras these days are designed to be worn as a necklace as well. On her wedding day, the bride can wear her tiara on her head and as a necklace for as long as she wants to. She can even pass it on to her children as an heirloom someday.
There are many considerations that a bride must think about if she wants to wear a tiara on her wedding day. But despite these considerations, there is nothing to stop her from wearing one and becoming a princess on her special day if that is what she wants.
