So, what is the perfect wedding favor? The answer is that the perfect wedding favor would be the one that you like best. It is the truth, no matter how vague or evasive it may sound. The perfect wedding favor is any item that you think suits your wedding best.

How to Choose Wedding Favors

Naturally you would not be able to find the perfect wedding favors for you if you do not know what to look for and how to find them. Remember that a wedding favor is basically a gift you give to your guests as a way of saying "Thank you" for coming to your wedding. It is meant to be a keepsake, but these days, they also double as decor for your wedding reception.

When you choose which wedding favors to buy, you may want to weigh in the following considerations:

1. Personalization. Can your chosen wedding favors be engraved with your name and that of your groom, as well as the date of your wedding? Do your wedding favors describe your personality and that of your groom so aptly? The best way for your guests to be able to remember how beautiful your wedding is would be for them to associate the item not just with the date of the event itself but with you two as people.

2. Durability. Will the items you gave away as wedding favors last through the years, the way you expect your marriage to last? You definitely would want something that lasts. Of course, the exception here would be if you want to give away consumables like candies, chocolates and soaps as wedding favors.

3. Usefulness. Are the wedding favors of your choice something that your guests will be able to use after the wedding? Your guests may appreciate something that they can actually use, like a letter opener or a pair of champagne glasses. Otherwise, they might just end up throwing it away. You would not want your money wasted that way.

4. Aesthetics. Do your chosen wedding favors look pretty? They have to be easy on the eyes.

5. Meaningfulness. Are the items that you would choose to serve as your wedding favors something that would hold meaning for you? Are they symbolic of something that you and your husband-to-be love? Give something that you yourself would care for.

Buying Wedding Favors

When you shop for wedding favors, always get something that fits your budget. With careful planning, you are sure to find an item that would be nice to give away as a wedding favor but without you spending too much for it.

Time is another factor that you should think about when you shop for wedding favors. If you are getting something generic and can be easily picked up at the mall, it is fine to buy them at the last minute.

However, if the item is something custom-made for your wedding, you should place your order for these items way ahead of time. You may be waiting to find out the exact number of guests coming to your wedding before you make your order, but it is better to be safe than to be sorry and have nothing to give away at all.
